Rabbi Yitzchak Rubenstein
Rabbi Rubenstein made aliya in 2002 after a long career in both formal and informal education in South Africa, as well as being a community Rabbi and Armed Forces chief chaplain. His last position there was Director of the South African Board of Jewish Education running eight Jewish Day Schools in Johannesburg. He is currently Administrative and Financial Director of a programme called Talking Peace which facilitates dialogue about peace in Israel.
Rabbi Rubenstein began educational work in Poland in 2007 and has guided over one hundred different groups for a number of organizations. He has also guided groups at other locations in Europe. He strives a focus on contemporary Poland — both in terms of the re-emerging Jewish community as well as past and present Polish-Jewish relations — always stressing the complexity of the issues.
Rabbi Rubenstein’s is also an independent thinker and challenging teacher; his main aim is to evoke a deep level of personal individual understanding emuna and faith in HaShem, in our relationships and commitment to all men, and in the eternity of the Jewish people.
Rabbi Rubenstein is married to Tova with six children and ten grandchildren and lives in Neve Daniel
