Day 1 Thursday: Arrival in Thessaloniki
Welcome to Greece! Your journey begins at the Thessaloniki Train Station, a site of profound Jewish historical significance as unfortunately the departure point for thousands of Jews sent to concentration camps during World War II. From here, you’ll visit the iconic White Tower, a symbol of the city’s Byzantine heritage, followed by a stop at the Alexander the Great Statue, which celebrates the legacy of the legendary Macedonian king.

Next, we will explore Vasilisis Olgas Street, where you’ll find grand Jewish villas, reflecting the rich cultural history of Thessaloniki’s Jewish community. Continue to the Rotunda, a monumental structure with a fascinating history as both a mausoleum and a church.  We will then view the Agios Demetrios Byzantine Church, dedicated to the city’s patron saint. Don’t miss the “Crypt,” a museum showcasing early Christian relics and the site where Saint Demetrius was martyred.

Finally, you will wander through the Old Town (Ano Poli) and enjoy stunning views from the City Walls, concluding your tour of Thessaloniki. Afterward, continue to the luxurious Vanoro 5* Hotel to relax and prepare for the adventures ahead.

Day 2 Friday: Discover Thessaloniki
Today, we will continue your exploration with a half-day tour of Thessaloniki, focusing on the city’s significant Jewish heritage. We will visit the Thessaloniki Synagogue and Museum, where you’ll discover the deep roots of the Jewish community that once flourished here. The museum’s exhibits and your guide’s narration will bring to life the rich cultural tapestry that has contributed to Thessaloniki’s diverse history. Return to the hotel around 14:30 to prepare for shabbat

Day 3: Shabbat Walk to Ladadika
After lunch, you will explore  Ladadika, Thessaloniki’s historic district known for its charming cobblestone streets and colorful, restored buildings. Once a bustling marketplace, Ladadika is now a vibrant area filled with cafes, shops, and a lively atmosphere that captures the city’s character.

Day 4: Spiritual Heights of Meteora
Prepare for a day of awe-inspiring sights as you journey to Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its dramatic cliffs and ancient monasteries. These monasteries, perched high atop natural rock pillars, offer not only a glimpse into the ascetic life of monks but also some of the most breathtaking views in all of Greece. You’ll visit two of these monasteries, each with its own unique history and sacred relics. As you walk through these spiritual sanctuaries, you’ll feel the serene atmosphere that has drawn pilgrims and visitors for centuries. In the evening, you will return to the comfort of the Vanoro 5* Hotel.

Day 5: A Step Back in Time – Veria and Vergina
Today’s full-day tour takes you on a journey through ancient Macedonia. Begin in Veria, where you will visit the ancient Synagogue, a testament to the once-thriving Jewish community.  This site also bears significance in early Christian history. We will continue to Vergina, home to the royal tombs of Macedonian kings. Among these is the tomb believed to belong to Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. The museum here is built over the archaeological site, allowing you to see the tombs as they were discovered, complete with stunning artifacts that reflect the grandeur of ancient Macedon.  After a day rich in history, return to the Vanoro 5* Hotel.

Day 6: Traditional Village Life
Experience the charm and tranquility of traditional Greek village life with a visit to Arnaia, a picturesque town known for its well-preserved Macedonian architecture. You will wander through its cobbled streets and admire the stone-built houses with their colorful facades, which tell stories of a time when life moved at a gentler pace. Continue to Taxiarchis, a village famed for its Christmas tree cultivation, and then on to Stagira, the birthplace of Aristotle, one of the greatest philosophers of all time. Here, you can explore the archaeological site that celebrates his legacy. After this stimulating day, return to the Vanoro 5* Hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 7: A Day of Leisure – Edessa and Pozar 
Today is a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration. You will start with a visit to the town of Edessa, known for its stunning waterfalls that cascade through the heart of the city. Stroll through the lush parks surrounding the falls, and perhaps enjoy a coffee at a local café while taking in the beautiful views. Continue your day with some leisurely shopping, where you can pick up local crafts and souvenirs. Later, it is possible to unwind at the Pozar Hot Springs, where the therapeutic waters, surrounded by majestic mountains, provide a perfect soothing conclusion  to your day. enjoy a coffee at a local café while taking in the beautiful views. Day 8: Departure– early morning.
After a week of unforgettable experiences, it’s time to bid farewell to Greece. We’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure, taking with you memories of a journey steeped in history, culture, and relaxation.
