Prague is one of Europe’s most enchanting cities, where centuries of history, culture, and architecture come together along the banks of the Vltava River. Known as the “City of a Hundred Spires,” Prague’s beautifully preserved Old Town, Gothic cathedrals, Baroque palaces, and cobblestone streets create an atmosphere that feels both timeless and alive.
The Jewish Heritage of Prague holds a particularly profound significance. The city was home to one of Europe’s oldest and most influential Jewish communities, with a continuous presence 
dating back over 1,000 years. Remarkably, much of Prague’s Jewish quarter survived the devastation of World War II, leaving behind an unparalleled collection of synagogues, communal buildings, and the historic Old Jewish Cemetery, where layers of gravestones bear witness to centuries of Jewish life.
A visit to the Jewish Quarter (Josefov) offers a deeply moving journey through Jewish history, from the medieval period and the Golden Age of Prague Jewry, through persecution and resilience, to the tragic events of the Holocaust. Sites such as the Altneuschul – the oldest active synagogue in Europe – stand as powerful symbols of continuity, faith, and survival.
Today, Prague is not only a city of memory but also one of renewal. Jewish culture, learning, and communal life are once again part of the city’s fabric. A Jewish heritage visit to Prague combines reflection and remembrance with appreciation for a vibrant European capital, making it an essential and meaningful destination for travelers seeking both historical depth and cultural beauty.
Sunday, Oct 11, 2026: Arrival and the Royal Route
Welcome to Prague! Upon arrival, we transfer to the majestic Prague Castle. We begin our tour in this fascinating city with a visit to Prague Castle which has been the seat of Czech princes, kings, and presidents in the modern history of the state since the end of the 9th century. We will tour courtyards which lead around the St. Vitus and the Old Royal Palace to St. George Square, and continue to the Golden Lane.
The day continues with a stroll across the iconic Charles Bridge, taking in the statues and city views, followed by lunch. Afternoon check into your hotel for a short well deserved rest after an early morning flight.
In the evening, enjoy a short walk to the river for an evening boat cruise along the Vltava. This two-hour voyage features the smooth sounds of live jazz and a sunset kosher dinner served on the water.
Monday, Oct 12, 2026: Terezín Memorial
After breakfast, we will visit Terezin which was a concentration camp 30 miles north of Prague in the Czech Republic during World War II. Terezín is contained within the walls of the famed fortress Theresienstadt, which was created by Emperor Joseph II of Austria in the late 18th century and named in honor of his mother, Empress Maria Theresa.
By 1940 Nazi Germany had assigned the Gestapo to turn Terezín into a Jewish ghetto and concentration camp. It held primarily Jews from Czechoslovakia, as well as tens of thousands of Jews deported chiefly from Germany and Austria, as well as hundreds from the Netherlands and Denmark. More than 150,000 Jews were sent there, including 15,000 children, and held there for months or years, before being sent by rail transports to their deaths at Treblinka and Auschwitz extermination camps in occupied Poland, as well as to smaller camps elsewhere. Less than 150 children survived.
Upon returning to Prague, time permitting, we will take an opportunity to visit the National Museum in Prague. enjoy through Czech history and natural wonders, from prehistoric fossils and stunning mineral collections to royal treasures, all within a magnificent architectural landmark with breathtaking city views.

Tuesday, Oct 13, 2026: Old Town Grandeur and Classical Music
The morning begins with a 09:00 walking tour through the layers of Prague’s history. In the Old Town, you will witness the Gothic beauty of the Old Town Square and the world-famous Astronomical Clock. The tour continues into the New Town, founded in the 14th century, where you will explore the vast Wenceslas Square—the site of many of the nation’s most pivotal historical moments—and the elegant shopping boulevards.
After lunch, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace, perfect for shopping or independent exploration.
After dinner, we enjoy an elegant classical music concert held in the stunning Smetana Hall of the Municipal House.
Wednesday, Oct 14, 2026: The Heritage of Pilsen
Enjoy a full-day trip to Pilsen, a city rich in both Jewish and brewing history. The highlights include a visit to the Great Synagogue, the second-largest in Europe, and the beautifully restored Old Synagogue tucked away in a nearby courtyard. The tour also includes a visit to the world-famous Pilsner Urquell (Prazdroj) brewery. Takeaway kosher lunch boxes are provided for the 
day.
Return to Prague for dinner.
Thursday, Oct 15, 2026: The Jewish Quarter and Farewell
After checking out of the hotel, spend the day immersed in the history of the Prague Jewish Quarter (Josefov). This comprehensive walking tour runs from features visits to the Old-New Synagogue, the Spanish Synagogue with its Moorish interior, and the Maisel and Pinkas synagogues. The tour also includes the Old Jewish Cemetery and a midday lunch hosted by the Jewish Community of Prague.
Depart for the airport and bid farewell!
