Israel Museum & Kotel Experience Night

31 August 2017 - 31 August 2017
Locations: Jerusalem

Join Beit Oleh America Netanya AACI on a full day tiyul in Jerusalem combines a guided tour to the much acclaimed Maybe, Maybe Not exhibition at the Israel Museum together with a visit to the Old City. The Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, is one of the most influential members of the international art scene. This exhibition features powerful and visually captivating artworks combining sculpture, photography, video, and large-scale installations, such as his astounding 2010 installation which covered the entire floor of the Tate Museum in London.

Weiwei was imprisoned without trial in his native China, due to his political activism and outspoken stance on human rights and freedom of expression, messages which are central themes in his art.

In the cool of the afternoon, the trip will then proceed to the Old City for a new, state-of-the-art audiovisual presentation of the Second Temple, offered by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.

This audiovisual experience has combined the skills of computer experts and artists to create a fascinating and precise view of the Second Temple. Special goggles and chairs that swivel allow you to have a 360* perspective of standing at the Temple as it appeared many centuries ago. It is accompanied by in-depth information about the glory days of ancient Jerusalem and promises to be a most interesting “look into the past”.
